ICCO Financial Committee Meeting
Brussels – Ivory Coast – Malaysia – Indonesia – Peru – Brazil
ICCO Delegates and Board Members
English, French, Spanish
The International Cocoa Organization (ICCO) is a global organization for cocoa producing and cocoa consuming member countries. It was established in 1973 and is headquartered in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The organization has 52 member countries on four continents.
For their Financial Committee meeting in June, participants connected from six countries and spoke three different languages. KUDO provided the technology and trained ICCO’s interpreters in the use of the platform.
Communication was fluid at all times, and the meeting ended earlier than scheduled thanks to the added efficiency.
KUDO came as the perfect solution! Sound and video quality were perfect.”
The International Cocoa Organization has its headquarters in Abidjan, in Côte D’Ivoire, in West Africa. But its member states are spread throughout Africa, the Americas, Europe and Asia. They also span a large number of languages.
Member state representatives travel occasionally for a few in-person meetings. With a view to increasing their meeting frequency and efficiency, the organization was in search of a solution to allow their members to meet remotely.
They wanted to provide delegates with high-quality audio and video. The proposed solution had to light on bandwidth, as Internet connectivity in some of duty stations is borderline at best.
The KUDO Way
A few things makes KUDO the perfect solution for this scenario:
- KUDO requires minimal bandwidth
- Any interpreter can be proficient in KUDO with minimal training (which we provide)
- Delegates can connect from anywhere, with as little as a computer and a webcam
- Participants can follow the meeting fully through their own device
KUDO quickly established the requirements and joined ICCO on a call for a sound check and rehearsal. Next, we made sure ICCO interpreters completed KUDO’s online tutorials and joined our team for some hands-on practice.
On the day of the event, delegates and board members were free to engage freely, speaking their own language. No travel incurred, no equipment required. Big savings in time and money. And as a bonus, the meeting was concluded several hours earlier than anticipated.
The next day, KUDO provided ICCO with the recorded versions in English, French and Spanish of all sessions, for record keeping.
