Summary
In 2021, KUDO introduced its native integration into Microsoft Teams, allowing Teams users to leverage KUDO’s network of 12,000+ interpreters, specializing in 200+ languages, for their meetings, webinars, and events. AG Insurance was an early adopter of this new integration and currently uses KUDO for regular team meetings and other ad-hoc corporate meetings in French and Dutch. KUDO for Teams allows all AG Insurance employees to communicate effectively across the organization by empowering everyone to participate in these meetings in their preferred language.
Removing language barriers and obstacles
Before KUDO, AG Insurance would incorporate live interpretation in a classical physical set-up for their meetings and events. However, COVID-19 restrictions and safety measures quickly shifted their meetings to online, where they were without interpretation altogether. Their bilingual speakers did their best to speak both languages, but this wasn’t sustainable nor sufficient.
AG Insurance was already committed to the Microsoft Suite, and KUDO’s integration into Microsoft Teams enabled them to secure business continuity whilst continuing to offer an inclusive workspace aligned with the linguistic diversity in Belgium.
How did we do it?
Already accustomed to simultaneous interpretation, AG Insurance has an in-house interpretation team. KUDO provided their in-house interpreters with a digital interpreter console featuring state-of-the-art virtual functionalities (e.g., relay, handover, and more) for their Teams meetings. With the new integration, organizers can simply schedule meetings through Teams, as usual, adding the KUDO tab, and meeting participants will have access to KUDO’s drop-down language selector embedded into the Teams interface.
About AG Insurance
“AG” is a name that has resonated for almost 200 years in the Belgian landscape. In 1824, the company was already active in what was to become, a few years later, Belgium. Since then, it has grown to become the market leader it is today in the Belgian insurance sector with more than 2.7 million individual customers.
