Tuesday, 8 October, 2020

Madrid, Spain – KUDO Inc., the leading Language-as-a-Service platform for online meetings won “The Future of Work” category at South Summit Madrid, and took home the prize for ‘The Best Team’ at the final round.

If you haven’t ever heard of South Summit, you should. Originally founded in 2012 by Spain Startup and IE Business School, South Summit is a global innovation platform focused on discovering business opportunities and disruptive trends that brings together the leaders of the world’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Every year South Summit Madrid hosts a start-up competition in which they hand-pick 100 of the world’s most innovative startups from a field of thousands. This year was no different. After careful evaluation and consideration amongst 3,000 applications, the most promising teams were invited to pitch their ideas in a series of nine categories. The most innovative startups in each category were given the opportunity to share their project in front of a jury of investors and business leaders who choose one winner per category. Traditionally an onsite event, this year’s South Summit was redesigned as a live television event taking place online.

KUDO was selected as one of the 12 finalists and the eventual winner of the “The Future of Work” category. During the competition, startups were judged on innovation, scalability, team, viability and investibility.

CEO and Co-Founder of KUDO, Fardad Zabetian, provided an innovative and exciting pitch before the live and online jury and then answered probing questions from the panel.

Together with the winners of the other eight categories, KUDO moved on to the finals on Thursday, October 8 to compete for one of the grand prizes and walked away from the competition with the prize for ‘Best Team’.

‘The future of work is global and multilingual where companies can access a more diverse and talented workforce while having diverse clients’ adds Fardad Zabetian, CEO and co-founder of KUDO ‘ so innovators can innovate with global perspective and more diverse customers feedback.’

“We didn’t want to just do an online conference, we wanted to reinvent it, to turn a dream into reality. To dream something big, something different, something that creates opportunities for everybody. We did it together, the whole ecosystem.”  Maria Benjumea, Founder & CEO at Spain Startup & South Summit.
