New York City, NY – KUDO Inc., the leading Language-as-a-Service platform for online meetings, has announced a new collaboration with the Open Source Medical Supplies (OSMS). The organization will obtain free access to the platform during the following months in support of their efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Created as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, OSMS researches and disseminates open source plans for medical supplies used to treat and reduce the spread of COVID-19 that can be fabricated locally. They also support, mentor, and guide local communities as they self-organize hospital systems, essential services, professional fabricators, makerspaces, and local governments into resilient, self-supporting supply units.
“We will use this time to support and activate local communities internationally addressing critical shortages of medical supplies and equipment”, states David de Weerdt, OSMS’ Volunteer Coordinator. “This will also facilitate communication between medical and technical experts.” He added.
With KUDO’s platform, OSMS will have extra contribution as they work to complete international localization of the OSMS Medical Supplies Guide by facilitating their direct communication with in-country medical experts and medical supplies maker. This way, wider audiences can be reached with interpretation support.
”We are very excited about the collaboration with OSMS and about the fact that we at KUDO are able to contribute to a cause that is committed to provide support and supplies during this pandemic” says Fardad Zabetian, KUDO’s founder and CEO, also adding: “This collaboration comes in a time where OSMS have reached a point in their process where it is critical they receive all the support possible.”
Next to supporting OSMS with the use of the platform, a campaign will follow up to recruit voluntary interpreters to further support OSMS in their multilingual meetings.
