We are very happy to announce KUDO as this year’s winner of the 2019 Future of Meetings Award. After being shortlisted as one of the most promising startups in the meetings technology sector along with four innovative contenders, KUDO claimed the award organized by the Meeting Design Institute (MDI) in partnership with The Meetings Show.

The award is considered a true springboard for new products and services in the meetings industry, and its winner was chosen by a panel of experts that included some of the sector’s heavyweights like Carsten Pleiser, Adam Parry, Felix Rundel, Rosa Garriga, and Sofia Teles.

What drove the juror’s decision?

KUDO boasts a vast array of solutions to help event organizers widen the scope of their global events across geographic and language barriers. The platform offers a built-in language selector so everyone can speak their own language through human-powered, on-demand interpretation.

According to Ross Barker, commercial director of The Meetings Show and one of the judges, “The Future of Meetings Award showcases technology that is likely going to change the face of meetings and events in the years to come,” “The competition was tough, but KUDO’s solution really stood out.”

“We’re reinventing the meeting space from inside, in a disruptive yet constructive approach where the whole is always more than the sum of the parts”, says Fardad Zabetian, KUDO’s founder and CEO. “That can only be done by true industry insiders, which we are proud to be.”

The award ceremony

The award winner was announced on Thursday 27 June to an audience of 4,500 event planners and industry professionals gathered at Olympia London for the seventh edition of The Meetings Show. Ewandro Magalhaes, KUDO’s VP of Marketing & Communications, received the prize in person from the hands of Ross Barker and Marteen Vanneste. Congratulations also goes to the team behind KUDO, Fardad Zabetian, Parham Akhavan, and Pablo Ramirez.

Additional perks of winning including complimentary membership to the Meetings Design Institute (MDI) for a full year, and a full booth at next year’s edition of The Meetings Show, on June 20-24, 2020.
