What is FedRAMP? What does it mean for KUDO?

At KUDO, we want all our clients to rest assured that they are in good hands. It’s why we work with the most talented interpreters across the globe. It’s also why we are committed to providing the most secure platform we can. Our client base ranges from start-up to intergovernmental organizations, which is why security is factored into everything we do.

KUDO was recently approved as FedRAMP Ready for Agency Authorization. Getting approved for FedRAMP and SOC 2 Type 1 certifications is of course challenging, but it’s all for good reason. These certifications speak to our trustworthiness and security of the services we provide. The FedRAMP Ready for Agency Authorization status solidifies our promise to provide our clients with the highest standards of security. But what exactly is FedRAMP, and what does that mean for KUDO and our clients?

What is FedRAMP?

FedRAMP stands for Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program. It’s a program that provides standards and guidelines for security assessment, authorization, and monitoring for cloud-based services used by the federal government and commercial groups. FedRAMP agencies are required by law to protect all federal information that has been added to cloud services. Getting the FedRAMP Ready status is a strong indicator of success for full FedRAMP authorization.

What does this mean for KUDO?

FedRAMP is mandatory for all cloud-based services used by Federal agencies. For that reason alone, getting a FedRAMP authorization is very important for our success in the public sector. FedRAMP authorization gives KUDO clients confidence in the security of our services. It shows that our product is meeting the highest standards in cloud security. It also means that KUDO will be listed on the FedRAMP Marketplace as a FedRAMP Ready vendor. Lastly, this certification allows more government entities to use the KUDO platform.

What does this mean for KUDO clients?

Security and expansion. KUDO’s FedRAMP Ready status assures clients that they get first class cloud security for their meetings whether they are remote or hybrid. The higher we rank in security also means that more governmental agencies will be able to benefit from our platforms. This increases the opportunity for communication and collaboration.

The FedRAMP Ready assessment process was thorough and challenging, but we aren’t finished. With both the FedRAMP Ready for Agency Authorization and SOC 2 Type 1 certifications under our belt, the next step is SOC 2 Type II and Full FedRAMP Authorization. At KUDO, we are committed to providing the most secure cloud-based multilingual conferencing platform we can. And these attestations and certifications prove we are well on our way.
